Default Nitrous, High compression, direct port?

hey people,

ive recently build my motor, just waiting til it gets tuned. (ls/vtec, itr pistons, toda cams, skunk2 valvetrain, rc 310in, walbro 255 fuel pump, engine fully rebult, arp bolts, studs, new fuel pump etc)

i have a wet nitrous kit that i would like to use,

though i have a few queries,

First of all my compression is around 12.5, clearances are very tite.
second this is i havent really got the money to go direct port, though i understand it is alot better. So i will be runnin a WET n kit/

Im wanting to run 150 shot, and also planning to get a set of colder plugs. though im not quite sure how safe this will be... ?
Im going to richen the a/f ratio and also retard the timing when i use Nitrous, and have a seperate map but still not sure how safe this will be?
and how safe will it be if i dont retard timing ?
I will be controlling the nitrous with a progressive controller.

so if u run this how effective will it be ?

Anyone shed some light on this,

ive searched in the FI forum, but there isnt much help there as they are forced induction.
thanks

A 150 shot will probably scatter you motor. Its just to much nitrous, especially for you compression. Pulling time might help a little, but I would stick with a much smaller shot. In the 50-75 area. Most nitrous cars also run an exhaust cam with a longer duration to help dispense all that extra O2 that the nitrous releases durinig combustion.

Its not too much nitrous for your compression, not by a long shot. You will need at least an 8 or 9 (ngk equivalent) cold plug--and no pump gas. That shouldn't be a problem with 110+ octane. I would NOT run that on pump gas. You say your clearances are "tight"? Bearings, piston to wall? HOw tight? I see you are running ITR pistons, I assume ITR rods? If that is the case I wouldn't do it. Get a low silicon forged piston and run it a little "looser" than you would for a straight N/A application. Otherwise you are playing with fire.
