Default am i guessing right v. distributer problem?

i have a 93 si with a 1.6 single cam in it.

anyways i was driving and my damncar just went out, rpm's and gas sittin on 0's. tried pop starting, adding oil, puttin a wire from the fuel pump to the battery (thought it had no gas) and nothing worked.. My engine just doesnt turn over. my friend told me im gettin no spark from the distributer to my plugs when he checked it so we are guessing that is the problem.

i just dont wanna go spend the $$ for another distributer, put it in and have that not be the problem. anyone have a similar issue before?

Sounds like the dizzy, you don't have to replace the whole thing. Usually it's a component, like the cap, rotor, ignitor, etc.

if your definately not getting spark usually its the ignitor or the coil located inside the dizzy..sometimes its just the contacts of the wires on the ignitor so search or look up in the manual how to test the ignitor and coil and that should lead you to your problem

oh man...lol yes I just had that problem. My car has been over-heating so we replaced a bunch of stuff...well we did a compression check and then...ka ka ka ka wouldn't start...gor a new distributor on ebay and it started right up! Try it! If not that then check your ignition module...
