Power wise most any cam.

D16a6 the euro SI cam or sohc zc *nonvtec* will all pop in and add power.

Aftermarket any D cam non vtec will work, what do you want from the car and have you done mpfi swap?

ok so boosting at 5psi i'd look into a cam like exospeeds SR 909 then.

That is something I was not aware of, from what I've read the core would be same from how they are made, guess not..

Learn something new everytime on this site.

Exospeed still makes good products, and sorry if you felt misled by me.

its cool man....some little things that u find out sometimes....kinda sux though cus i would have to have my car not runing for a while without a cam while they sent me my oem one n da aftermarket one.....if this is so with exospeed, do you really think the si or zc cam would fit? without having to do like grinds or major modifications?

The head is the same other then the cam, would you be up for swapping heads as alot of people rather run a z6 or y8 head then a nonvtec head.

Yes you can put those heads on and wire them up search mini me.

If down time is an issue snag a cam from the junkyard probbly dirt cheap or buy a new instead of regrind, delta does regrinds as well.

Crower might still offer a non vtec sohc cam..

Guge probbly still does as well.

let me just get this straight. I must have spoken to you BlueRex, just a little while ago.
Sorry if I didnt explain it right.

The A6 cam and B2 can cam be interchanged with the cylinder heads. The only thing is the degree of the cam is different thats why we dont recommend swapping them out. to makeit work, you have to make some adjustments on the cam gear to make them compatible. the reason we dont openly say this is, while many are familiar with what I'm talking about, ALOT of people arent and we dont like to spread this information that they can easily be switched around.

Sorry for the confusion, but I hope this cleared something up.

ya the cores are actually totally different in that they arent same as like a D16A6 and Sohc ZC.

Same thing as with a D16Z6 cam and Y8. They look alike, but they are not the same core. The positioning of the lobes and where you would bolt the cam gear will position different on the motor. You'll get a difference of a couple degrees and when you start it up, it wont be right since the cam positioning is totally off of TDC. you have to correct it with a cam gear to put it back to Stock settings.

email me on the specs so I can remember to get them to you. I'm not at the shop anymore so I have to do it tomorrow. sales@exospeed.com Attn: d16a6 cam specs.

The a6 cam is a better cam to start out with.

oh i knew the issue with the camgear, n i heard its best to use an aftermarket adjustable camgear, but using an adjustable camgear can i use ur exospeed cam without having to get it as a regrind?

Correctly me if I'm mistake, but doesn't using a Y7/Y8 cam gear correct the timing error?

I'd like to get in on this chat if I may. I'm doing an MPFI swap on my '90 DX. I'd like to keep things simple and I'm keeping it an auto. I realize this is a really broad question but what would be a good cam? I saw the reply at the top of the post about a ZC cam.
I'd like to make some more power, I'll be using stock springs (new) and valves.
I'd like to keep things as simple as possible. also can I keep it OBD 0? What is a realistic gain? 10 HP 20 HP?
Please bear with me, I'm a Ford convert so I'm starting with zero knowledge
