Default Is this a good deal??

A colegue at work really likes my car (00' accord coupe V6 Fully loaded) and has found one just like it...The catch is that it has a salvage title, he says it looks good, runs great...It has a crack in the front bumper and is missing the lug nut caps on the front wheels. The guy is selling it for $4,900...Is this a good Deal?????
Thanks in ADV

it's not bad, salvage title or not i see the car is fixed and running. I think my car is a salvage also, and it runs great.

I'd want to do some checking on the "salvage" title. See what was done to the car. The car might have alignment problems as well. Insurance needs to be considered also, if the car gets hit by someone else and totalled out again the other insurance company won't have to pay much at all.
I've seen some good cars with salvage titles that were theft cars, and had been stripped out, of certain parts.
Buyer Beware

The salvage title was because the car was in an accident. He was thinking of having a mechanic come look at it....Any other things to be weary of?

Bump for more input

Just the popular transmission problems.

But even if someting did come up, wouldnt he be covered seeing as the car only has 33,000 on it. Wasnt the powertrain extended to 7 years 100,000 miles?

if it is salvage and has been rebuilt by a reputable shop, the title will be changed to "rebuilt." salvage is not so good. you need to look into it.

I've seen a couple salvaged titled cars that ran just fine. I had a friend that had one n it ran just fine. it was totalled n ran fine. then I found a civic si n it had a salvaged title but it wasnt totalled it was stolen n the motor was takin from it. so they just put a new motor in it.
