Default My days of owning a ITR is threatened by a damn Claims Adjuster.

September is... was my month renew my insurance pollicy with Grange Insurance. A year before I had a comphrehensive claim for when the little 5 year scratched my paint up and down the sides of my ITR and ran up the roof and caved it in. Grange didn't like the estimates I was getting and so they sent out a claims adjuster to look at the damage. He was a cool guy, talking about his day and how he liked my car. Well I had the damage fixed and a year went by to present day when I didn't recieve a renwal notice on my policy (big packet with all the useless junk and my frist payment tab). So I called up my agency I went through to find out why I didn't get my packet. My agent calls back and tells me that I was sent out a denial for renewal notice cause Grange had "learned" that my car was modified for speed. So I'm pissed trying to think who the hell could have said that and I call back and ask to see who could have told them and she told me that the claims adjuster wrote in his notes when he checked out my car. So, being monday I'm waiting for my agent to call me back, since the underwriter is talking it over with his supervisor to see if they can still cover me since I explained to my agent that the only thing the adjuster could have saw was a rollbar (which I'm sure some people put in their cars for show, been to HIN and you get what I mean) and a jacked up race seat (which how many ricers have you seen driving around in these seats and they never go to a track). So if I can't get Grange to cover me I don't think I can afford what the other companies are offering. I do have 2 tickets mind you but I do have two comprehensive claims (1 when the 5 year old vandilzed my car, and 2 when someone took the courtesy to smash out my rear glass a week before EXPO). I knew I was going to pay a higher rate cause of the tickets but the claims didn't help (stupid 5 year old.) I thought I would write about it on here and vent, maybe someone could tell me what they did if they were in a similar situation. Thanks

Well those certainly aren't going to help your case.

I'd give http://www.insweb.com a try. I filled out my info in the site and got a ton of quotes from local agents ranging anywhere from double what I was currently paying to about 33% less then I was paying.

My record isnt the best, but i havnt had anything in just about 2 years. Progressive gave me the best rate, and service so far has been excellent.

Multicar discount is nice too.

You need to put the car back to bone stock and have them come look at it again. I would not have admitted to any modifications.

But they know Integras are the most stolen and will probably look for anything to not insure you. Don't give them any more reasons than necessary.

If you are thinking USAA, the members have to have insurance through USAA also, been there, tried that

insweb.com found me a rate over 33% lower than I had with Progressive, even after adding a second car AND renter's insurance.

Yeah I know admitting that I have them would only have someone probably come out and look at the car. That means removing rollbar and finding someone who would let me borrow a stock teg seat. Plus figuring a way to mount a stock airbox in my engine bay for the K20. Plus a stock exhuast, which I don't have anymore..

I wouldn't be as concerned with the motor as I would be with the seat and rollbar.

But I'd still look for someone else. Safe Auto would probably pick you up until your record comes clean. You'll probably be paying though...

I know, but if youre a service member and not using USAA then youre also smoking crack!! Even if the rate is higher it is worth it for their customer service!!

I'm with you on USAA. When you have a decent record, their price is awesome. I have 3 cars, only two full coverage (1 being the ITR), with a $100 deductible, and its around 900 every 6 months. Did I mention that last year I had a 32mph over speeding ticket, a 19mph over ticket, and only 25. Their customer service is awesome too.

I bet you won't feel so slick if you ever have to file a claim and all they will pay for are hx parts.

I just got out of their Indemnity Program last May, that might clue you in on my record.

just give them :middlefinger: and take your business elsewhere...

plenty of insurance companies have decent, competitive rates and are willing to EARN your business.
