Anodizing: Who does it themselves or sends it out?
I have been concidering buying myself an Anodizing setup just to fool around with. They can be had for about $250 all the way up to several thousands of dollars.
My question is are there any companies that do just a few parts here and there or can someone here do a few parts for me? I am looking for Violet 3D color.
I really don't want to have to do it all myself, but if I have to I will.
Thanks in advance.

depending on what you need anodized. try paintball anodizing places. such as http://www.aplusanodizing.com or http://www.pbcustomz.com i would just give either one of them a call and see if they can do anything for you. i know both of them did a wonderful job anozing some of my paintball guns. ive gotten something done from each of them. you can get fades done, splash, dust colors.

There is a place in Pawtucket, RI that does it for a fairly cheap price for a batch. I think it was like $50 - $75 last time I checked. A batch is whatever they can fit into their large bins. I cant remember the name but they do all the parts for Moroso if I remember correctly..
They are on Esten Avenue.
I hope this helps..

This place is right next door to me, might give them a call and see if they do small batches. I haven't had anything anodized since i've been here, so i haven't asked.

evo's to spoons :sarcasm: come on guys i thought that was an easy one...
positive these are anodized, i stood next to the huge tubs and watched them dip the wheels. besides no spraying or baking involved with anodizing

the color is gonna depend on the finish before it is anodized. To really get the deep translucent look most people imagine when anodizing usually the part has to be polished or close to it first..

you sure it's not powder coated? I havn't seen one in person, so I'm just wondering. I'm sure anodizing is a better option for maximum weight savings.

Anodizing is effected by uv and does fade in constant sunlight.I have seen flats and satin finishes as well as hard anodizing that they use on bike sprockets and industrial parts.
