Default jdm b16 the 2 o2 sensor....need help

i installed my jdmb16 and hooked up the 2 o2 sensor...i had a surge, light hesitation at any rpm...any gear...i tried switchin the o2 sensor but didn't help...then i disconnected 1 o2 and i am now runnin only 1 o2 sensor...and it runs better....and i heard that each 02 sensor helps the flow of air and fuel for 2 cylinders....that might mean that i am running rich in 2 cyl. and lean in the other 2.? im plannin to put nitrous and i am wondering if it would be safe since im running only 1 o2sensor....thanks

Get get o2's. I had the same problem with my B16a1. Your car will run in safety mode until you get it fixed. Are you running a stock header, or aftermarket ceramic/stainless? Where are they located? I ask this b/c after installing my DC Sports 4-2-1, I had to get new bungs welded to the top of the manifold where the 4 goes in to 2. The o2's weren't getting hot enough in the bottom, and wouldn't register correctly. Running one o2 will make it seem okay, but it will still be in safety mode cuz the ECU is like "WTF IS GOING ON MFER, FIX ME". GL.

by safety mode, could that mean that vtec might not work? I'm only running 1 o2 sensor (got a DC header too) and its running kinda messed, but the only code I'm getting is 21 (vtec solenoid), but all the wiring is right and the solenoid is fine. the car coughs every 10 mins on average, at any throttle/rpm/gear, so I dont know what's going on. you think it's o2 related?

I have the DC 4:1 header and I'm only using 1 O2 sensor, runs great. No problems, an occasional check engine light but it runs fine.
