In general I'm talking about the setups offered by Mugen, Spoon, and maybe Zeal Super Function. I for one could care less about comfort. What I need to know is there any real reasons that you can't run them on the softest setting on the street? Will they wear out quicker or anything of the sort? I'm willing to sacrifice comfort knowing that my R has a worthy suspension. Thanks in advance.
Zeal S6.. I know people running it on the hardest setting, and some even running the race setup, i.e. 12k front, 8k rear. Talk to Mike "TypeRmsm". I'm gonna be getting either the Mugen Lowdown or Zeal S6 soon.
The Super Function's are very streetable IMO. The way they valved the shock is nicer then the Tein HA. With the Tein's the ride was bumpy, but with the Zeals, the ride feels more comfortable, I was a bit surprised when I took it for a test drive. I was expecting it to be unbearable on the street, but I was wrong.
I do have to watch out for irregularities on the road, and practically crawl over the railroad tracks, but other than that, it's very streetable.

I run 12/8 spring rates on the streets of ATL with no problem
But why do you need Super Functions?

I find it funny how everyone mentions the big names in j-spec suspension but they all fail to put in apex-i. I'm running the apex n1 setup and it's very nice. While not on full stiff for the street it's a very firm ride. At the track, it held up to my driving level which was pretty shitty, but im sure it'll hold up when I improve aswell. (Pillowmounts

it all depends on your definition of 'streetable' and the road conditions you have to drive in.
in an area such as NYC, almost all coilovers would be unstreetable... in the suburbs no problem.
another thing to consider is that the larger piston diameters of most coilovers helps the ride significantly, even if you are running high spring rates.

Tein with remote reservior is awesome. even with heavy springs the car is unbearbly rough on bad roads. on tein HA with the same srping rate you'd throw up guaranteed.
