Default OH NOOOO ... i broke car.. fuel problem? fixed

well yesterday i did an oil change and started removing my cat so i could gut it .. but didnt finish.. tried starting the motor today just for kix and it started .. ran like crap and died.. tried again later.. and the starter was turning over .. very easily .. no battery problems.. but its almost as if the car wasnt getting any fuel.. would also explain it cutting out when it started and held for a few seconds the first time... so i figured maybe i dont have gas (gas meter is kinda screwy sometimes.. ).. had my roomtae drive me to get some.. got 2 1/2 gallons in a can and poured it in... no luck.. car still turns over and doesnt catch... this really sux cuz my appointment to get tuned is this coming saturday and ive been waiting for 3 weeks now..

oh sorry its a b16 t3/t4 57 trim .48 ar in a 97 civic coupe

any productive input is welcome.. thanks

you asked for help and now you know why your car wont run? ok buddy....

what sort of fuel management are you using?
no o2 sensors = the car cant adjust the a/f ratio so it would idle. i.e it would run pig rich and flood.

what else did you touch, when you did the oil change? Turn the key to the on position and see if you here the fuel pump turn on. Listen for the hummmm. Then check for spark. Did you mess with anything as far as the plug wires go, or distributor. What all do you have done to the car.

If your o2 is behind the cat it could mess with it, but probably not. Plus, i don't know many hondas that run the o2 behind the cat, other then obd II which that one is more of a emissions sensor, then a computer sensor. Are you tuned on anything, or are you going fmu? If you have any spare distributor parts laying around, start swapping after you confirm your fuel pump is kicking on.

Me saying that your comment was not the cause of the problem does not mean that i know what is causing the problem.. im running with a hondata s200 with o2 sensors turned off. thats why i know why removing the cat has nothing to do with it.. also im pretty sure if it was because the engine was flooding it would still start up after sitting for a while then struggle and die.. but like i said it just turns over and never fires.

I also believe the fuel pump is turning on i hear the main relay clicking at least twice (not sure about the third) and i hear the fuel pump priming. im thinking it might be a distributor problem but do distributors die that quickly? it worked then 2 min later didnt.

Distributors do and can go bad that quickly. I had it happen, was running fine, went to pull up my driveway, and stalled. Ended up being my ICM module... borrow a friends.

in terms of what? Just replace it completely with a new or used one...double check ur plugs, and wires and be sure to re-time it to 16 degrees or so once u get the car started...

Similar problem when I did my motor swap.

I had it up and running, took it for a drive around the block and everything. Then the next time I tried to start it it wouldn't work. I thought it was some crazy wiring issue as i'd fiddled with something but in the end the ignitor was just dead... Then the coil a few days later... then a second coil a few days later.. 3rd coil, all good for about 6 months so far

ok so it wasnt dizzy.. i checked spark usin screwdriver method on all four plug wires.. and they were all there
replaced plugs.. old ones were fouled as **** (im getting tuned this weekend.. been running really rich)
tried starting.. it turned over and caught for a second and died.. then i figured it might be becaues when i removed plugs i let air inside the cylinders.
so.. i figured hey maybe its flooding and not enough air is gettin in..

then like i dumbass i tried messin with the throttle when i started which of course wont work cuz the tps will tell ecu to spit more fuel.

so then i popped off the brake booster cable and tried startin... vroom chyeaa..

got an old aem fpr.. gonna go throw that on =]..

thx for help
