Honestly, if you want your car to feel like ****... these are for you. Don't worry about getting mount inserts unless it's a real issue. All they're going to do on 95% of cars is make them a real shitty daily driver.

LOL, Sorry i had to bring this post back from the dead, and it found while doing my search on motor mouunt inserts. Evryone keeps saying when you put the inserts in your car it vibrates a lot can ya'll elaborate from 1 to 10 (1 being worst to 10 being best) I would like to get some but my car is sorta stock and a daily driver nothing fancy, and my car does vibrate some what (seven is what i rate my car at the moment). Anyway post your thoughts if you care.

if you think about it they should. vibration will hurt any motor, but they do make for a less comfortable idle. there are some cars though that do have poly uriathian motor, and trans mounts, bushings, and so forth stock. it depends on the grade of uriathian on how stiff it is.

What about using those engine dampers? Theoretically speaking I would think they do work..it would dampen any movement but not make it unbearable....any thoughts?

those are mainly from heavy tourq loads, such as hard launches, and quick shifts. they don't do much as far as I know during normal loads, or idle. I don't dyne that I have been looking into one myself. Does any one know of a good one?

NRG are the only ones that are affordable for "daily driving". Ingalls makes one called the "Stiffy" but IIRC retail quite high...over $125..

They aren't inserts. They're little shocks/struts. I've found quite a few on ebay....just type in "nrg engine damper" into the search and you'll find them...Approx. $50 shipped, depending on color/titanium.

and most people sell them after a while for some reason.

there's like a bunch in s2ki.com in the for sale section and i wonder why.

because the stock mounts should be good enough to handle at least 200 hp. A shock is still going to alow some movement. just slow it and smoth it out a little, so not much of a change I gusse. also engien dampers are suppose toi be a lot more effective on front wheel drive.( only say this because you reffered to an s2000 site.)

the 3m window weld is the best stuff for cheap. Inserts are only good for track I'd say.

just insert the front ones. you will not have that much of an issue with vibration. they are better than spending the 10 bux for a tube of messy window weld and making them yourself (no down time).

I have used both. just get the inserts. less hassle.

there's a DIY on the accordingly done forums in regards to this with urethane I believe? and just fill in the current motor mounts with it. I'm guessing window weld is similar stuff

i have urethane filled rear and side mounts and prothane front mount insert and an NRG engine damper but recently took off my front mount cuz of my turbo setup and the engine is still rock solid. dash board and interior rattles when it gets rough but it has helped with wheel hop dramatically. not really necessary for a stock car (non turbo'd or built) and not too friendly with daily driving.

however it is a cheap alternative fix if your mounts are busted.

Did you do those all at once or little by little? I'm wondering if I should go the engine damper route because I'd rather not do all the work and put the inserts in....my car is a daily driver and want something to help w/ engine movement...and I can disconnect the damper if I need to...

the thing with the NRG damper is that it was made for h22 swapped accords but that isnt specifically stated in their description, but you can hook it up from the power steering bracket to strut tower. it supposed to connect from the engine mount to firewall.

i did the front mount insert years ago, did the rear mount and side mount at the same time when i bought the can of liquid urethane from mcmasters, and the damper recently.

people should realize that the engine dampers usually last about 6 months. then they are just there for show.... Not a good purchase. Just put in the front mount insert. It goes a long way, is highly daily driveable, and will last longer than your next 3 timing belts.
