Default DOHC Dizzy

Ok i dont know what to think anymore.I always thought that if you had say a b16 you needed a DOHC VTEC dizzy. But i see people saying that they are using a LS dizzy on a DOHC VTEC motor.Ive searched and came up with both answers. So what is the truth?

the only difference is where the dizzy is bolted on, one tab is in a different spot, if you cut that tab off and use the other 2 it will work fine, I even did the same with my crx si dizzy when by b16 dizzy crapped out, cut one tab off and it ran fine, did not have as much adjutment though but got me throught till I got a new b16 dizzy.
