fill it through the normal fill hole and you'll never have to worry about overfilling

If you dripped out of the VSS hole, you over filled the trans. It need only like 2 quarts but refer to your manual. There is that over fill plug that is located near the drain plug if you have level amount questions

97civicdx is right. If it's leaking out your VSS then it's over filled. I just did mine on my civic and it took right at about 2 quarts.

theres a fill hole on the firewall side of the tranny .. take out the bolt and let the extra fluid flow out and when it starts to barely come out .. put the bolt back in and your good to go ..

why fill from the VSS in the first place, theres a plug that was put there to fill the transmission.

If you do overfill a trans. Will it leak out of the axle holes until the level corrects itself?
Is that a bad thing for the axle seals?
