Expect to pay 500 up for a B16/GSR tranny. I paid 650 for a mint GSR tranny w/ low miles. ITR trannies start at around 1000, and can be had from the dealer for 1700. For less than the price of an ITR, you can get a GSR/B16 and drop in a ITR/CTR or a Quaife LSD, both of which are helical.

thanks. So what are pros/cons between gsr and a b16 tranny? Is one better for drag/autox?

B16 trannies have shorter gearing than a GSR tranny. That means you'll accelerate faster and be at a higher RPM while cruising in 5th gear. Obviously your fuel economy will hurt a little. B16 tranny is the way to go with your LS.

I'm really happy with GS-R gearing on my Turbo LS that I use for road course racing. Type-R/Si gearing would be too short for me, but probably ok for NA LS'es.
