poor mans type-r engine.....building it.....made a list.
b18c1 block balanced/bore .82mm
b18c1 rods
CTR pistons
type-r oil pump
ARP head studs
obd1 b16 head
dual valve springs *intake/exhaust*
all the seals/gaskets
hondata s200 w/ dyno tune
oem timing belt kit
oem block bearings
oem crank bearings
oem rod bearings
ARP rod bolts
close to $3000.00 w/ installation.
i would upgrade cams, but i would be dead broke and wont have money for the guy to put my motor together.
future mod CTR intake cam and ITR exhaust cam
am i missing anything? AND NO IM NOT INTERESTED IN BUILDING A b20 VTEC or LS-VTEC motor.

you might want to look into some 270s or 310s to be on the safe side. anybody have any experience or input on using pcts on your build? thinking of doing a similar setup but im concerned with the high compression on 91 pump gas (esp for daily drive).

Probably meant OEM spec ones like RS Machines

ITR Pistons are going to give you much better clearances. If your using the ctr pistons you should have your motor clayed just to make sure you won't have any piston to valve contact.
Check out the link in my signature for the specs on my engine, I'm expecting at least 180 and more with fuel upgrades and a tune.

ITR, P30s, you'd be better off with something like those. I'm not saying CTRs are bad(even though many will argue), just more trouble.

good luck man. im using wiseco bored .20 over and 12.1:1 compression on pump 93oct daily driven. with the new cams which im waiting on, and a new tune i should be well over the 200+whp mark. dynoed 189 with ITRs and 199 with crower stg 2s. let see what some skunk2 stg3s are gonna bring me bwaaahahaha

some people seem to get by on the CTR's but alot of people have barely driveable detonation monsters.
ITR pistons are great, the nippon oversize ITR's have treated me well, the RS machines cast oem style pistons have been good so far, etc. the dome in a ctr really divides the combustion chamber at TDC and slows down flame travel IMO.
