Read the manual. The engine has to be warmed up and not running. I think for all the other cars, you need to have the engine running, but for hondas, you don't.

how is it shifting?

i ran dry for almost 4 days, car was shifting very bad, i cheak it empty as anything can be.

Then i drained the old fuild out, then put fresh fuild in with a tranny lube for old transmissions. It shift like normal again then a week later I added a tranny cooler..

the problem is I gotta keep refuilling every 7k miles i have a leak near the block and tranny seal.... too poor to fix.. but 5 bucks not gonna kill me every month tho..

Make sure everything is at operating temp. Turn off the car. Pull out the stick, wipe it off, put it back in, pull it out... viola!

Check Hondas with the car off.
