hey, i know ive heard this a million times but couldnt remember what to do. i also searched. i just installed a apexi world sport exhaust on my 1998 lude. the check engine light is on and the code is running the secondary O2 sensor. do i need a new one?

 

I would just reset the computer and see if the engine light reappears.

is this a catback? do you have a cat converter?

 

if u have a test pipe and are still obd II...then u need to get a o2 simulator. i got one and if fixed my prob but i put the obd II engine and trans in a 94 si and went to obd I..but i can say that the o2 simlulator does work. it is not the wire in kind . its like a "non-fouler" for a spark plug if any of u know what i am talking about. but yeah they work great. install one and clear your codes and try it...

 

make sure hat all your flanges are tightened down all the way, and that your gaskets are all sealing really good. i had this same problem on my 98 prelude and i ended up having a bad exhaust leak somewhere.

 

i had it done at midas, so i would expect they tightened everything good with a impact wrench. Its a catback exhaust. (apexi ws2). after that its stock to the headers.

 

u paid someone to put on an exhaust??

hmm theres something about the "midas" name that probably leads to the root of the problem
