So i have a 4th gen. When i was getting out of the car my shoelace got caught on the latch that opens the hood. when i pull the latch there is 3 wires. one is hanging loose.
when i pull the latch nothing happens. How do i replace this latch? or if anyone has pics of the how the latch is wired plz tell me. I tried looking in my chilton but it doesnt show the wiring for that latch only the wires under the fender. Also are there any other ways to open the hood? honestly i think i have bad luck

 

the hood latch is a cable. nothing more
if there's something hanging down<looks like a wire> you probably snapped the cable and will need to replace the whole thing

 

come to think about it i dont think chilton even shows where that cable is located under the fender. I got my hand in there and theres a fat plastic hose and three small wires. im scared if i pull on one i might break something. Any one know if haynes has diagrams of the latch cable?
