-Unplug the battery for a hour, just for safety

-Pop off the cover, on the bottom of the wheel. I believe this will expose the red air bag safety plug.

-Pry off the cruse control cover and it will expose a #30 Torx bolt. I can't remember exactly how to get to it, but there is another Torx bolt on the other side.

-This will release the air bag. Place the red clip in. Store it facing upward. Helm's says something about it exploding if placed upside down.

-This will expose the spindle (some air bag device), which will unbolt.

I haven't gotten farther than this, but I believe you should have access to the steering wheel's nuts/bolts from this far.

The exploding part is the only fear factor. It's pretty much easy.

Thats pretty much it. The big bolt that holds the wheel on the column is a PITA as well as getting the airbag harnesses off without breaking anything

Breaker bar with someone holding the steering wheel. When you yank off the outer ring of the steering wheel, tighten the nut on the spindle a little. Position your hands 9 and 3. Give a quick, short jerk to pop the wheel off. You don't want to bust your teeth yanking the steering wheel.

Are you turning the right way? I've change steering wheels in 3 cars, and I don't remember the nuts/bolt (RSX had bolt) being tight.
