Water pump bad?
About 4 months ago I changed my water pump out. When I put on my new timing belt it made a whine. I have been working with the tension forever and just don't think I got it too tight. I have had 3 mechanics check my tension and they said it is plenty loose. How possible is it that I got a water pump with a bad pulley?? It spins freely when I do it. I know it's on the timing belt part because I ran the car with the 2 other betls off. I'm pretty much lost on what to do as I have been working on this problem for months now. Any ideas/suggestions?
I also need to add that the belt is sitting away from the block on the cam. I have heard if the belt moves towards the bock then that means it's too tight.
well what I would do is then start the car with the timing cover off and get a hose like a long heater hose and move the tip around the area to find the origin of the noise with the other end up to my ear that would be my option so try that
