i am just concerned with the block, are you saying the crank and/or rods are different, yielding the different compression #'s. Or are you refering to the motor assembly. I have a b18b shortblock so i have rods and a crank that i know will fit in a b20b, but what about a b20z?

The cranks for all of the motors (B20B, B18B, B20Z) are 89mm. The pistons are different between the B20B and B20Z, thus the different compression ratios.
