Default Need help deciding- Buy another b16 OR go LS-

Alright im in need of some help- I have a SI hatch that has a b16 in it. Its not in the best of shape, and i dont want to boost a motor that isnt 100% healthy. The numbers a little low on it, So I plan on either-
Buying a b16 longblock from Hmotors and swapping them
OR
Picking up a really clean LS motor from a local for half the price of the b16-

Both motors are gona be running a t3t04e garret turbo, and I am hoping to make around 275+ HP. I want to eventualy build it with some forged pistons/rods and hit 400. Money is getting tight, as i am peicing together my parts for the build and it sure is adding up haha. This car will be dailydriven, and tracked so I am sort of leaning towards the ls, for the torque- With some nice headwork i could behitting some great numbers- Both setups would have a b16 trannny BTW- Thanks for the help

I would go for an Ls. The extra displacement would be nice, especially with some head work so that it will handle 8k. Check out the thread that keeps popping up about the 50 trim T3/T4 makes almost as much power as the 57 but a much better spool time.

I have a T3/T4OE on my stock B18B1, full boost comes in between 4500-5000 rpm normally and it would loooooooooove another 1k rpms

What about track times- This will be in a 94 SI hatch, so im thinking the LS will do wonders with the nice torque as long as i get traction

Exactly. Don't waste your time building the LS head
