Default car runnin hot ?

ok i have a 95 gsr stock internals with a neukin ram horn ac mani and i am havin issues with my car running hot...after i had my turbo installed my oem rad crapped out so i replaced it with a civic/del sol half core rad i did this so i would have more room for the wastegate and also one of my friends has been runnin the same rad on his ls for over a year with no heating issues....my ? is will i really notice a difference if i replace it with a fluidyne half core or should i try and make a full rad try and fit also do u think it will be enuff rad to cool the car....and also when i run the ac it will cause the temps to start to run hot quickley but if i turn the ac off and the heat on the temps go right back to normal operating temp with the quickness...oh and by the way i live in fl where it freakin hot as hell

try bleeding your system first... I am putting money on a air bubble inside and that is what is causing you to over heat

when you switched to the half sized rad, did you replace your condenser fan? if you dont have one, thats prob. why you overheat when the a/c is on... other than that im having the same prob as you, i have the half sized stock civic rad in my 97 gsr, cause my full size wont fit w/ my mani. on the freeway in Fla, up to 70mph, the car runs cool enough, but at like 80 it starts getting hot, and im wondering if a half sized fluidyne would actually help, or if theres something else im not realizing thats making it heat up like that... i really want to heatwrap the dp, not the manifold, i dont want it rigged so the fans are on all the time, because i feel like if the rad and fan are doing their job, this would not be happening. sometimes the fan doesnt kick in and it makes me think the coolant temp sensor is busted, and i want to get some water wetter in there. if anyone has any suggestions let me know. maybe high pressure cap and new thermostat, but that wouldnt make it not hot, just help cool off earlier... i dunno, im confused. someone help me too.

i have two fans on it one pusher and one puller and my downpipe is wraped and i bout to pull the mani and have it coated cus it just so freakin hot in the engine bay

yea i have been told be a couple people to blead the system i guess i should try that first but if i act fast i can sell my oem halfcore and up grade to a halfcore fluidyne for just a couple of bux so im try to see if i should just do it...money is kinda tight cus i just had the turbo kit put on last week plus new tires and a new rad

maybe you should try having them both pulling. its something cut and dry if it overheats as soon as you turn on the a/c. anyway, def. bleed the system. i think im gonna try to get a fluidyne asap too. somethings gotta work, i cant deal with overheating its way too frustrating... i would also get some water wetter inthe rad.

Your best bet is going to be bleeding the system and making sure its bled.... reason being is your going to be really pissed if you spend ~300 on a fluidyne and still have the same problem.

the only reason I say to try to bleed the system first is because then your not wasting your money on something that isnt "that" much better..... I have had friends that had aftermarket rad's and went back to a stock one because of the problems they had..... But if you bleed it and it still doesnt help then go ahead and get the aftermarket one.... because atleast you tried to fix the problem and found out its not a air bubble in the system or something

If you dont mind spending the money or have the money and want one then go ahead and get it but I know not everyone on here has 300 just sitting around to spend

wellll, the fluidyne is aluminum, and it holds a little more coolant, just more efficient, so it def. cant hurt.

If money is tight then just check all the basics first and go from there.... add water wetter like stated earlier and make sure it’s bled all the way and there isn’t a air pocket in there somewhere....

Yes I had a friend who had a fluidyne that kept clogging on him. I have a koyo and haven’t had problems but my car only gets driven about 1000 miles a year if that.

Half sized radiators shoudl work fine, what kind of boost are you running? Engine managment of fmu? If your underhood temps are to high then shes going to run hot, What are you considering hot temps? Do you have a digital guage that gives you numbers or your going but the stock guage? You should really go with an aftermarket puller fan 1400cfm to keep things cool. id put one on the condensor and one on the rad. MR. Gasket makes 12" ers 1400cfm, mine works great
bleed the crap out of the cooling system, use distilled water and water wetter.

do you have your fan plugged into the spot for the AC fan?? It won't ever run unless the AC is on...try switching the plug for the fan and bleeding your cooling system

Jumper your Thermoswitch to get the fan to run all the time, and get a Jackson racing 160 thermostat only $5.00. That will fix that. guaranteed. The reason you are overhating is cause you are blocking a lot of your incoming air, with a front mount.

Are you running water or coolant?

I picked up a half sized 2" alum. radiator from a HT sponsor & it was making my car overheat w/ just water. I switched back to a stocker & went to coolant and I haven't had any issues yet.

do you have a huge dookie front mount...that might impede fresh airflow to ur rad
you can still make mad power without having a "mouthful" in the front bumper
