Default 86mm B20 Headgasket survival question

With a good tune and without oringing (no room) will the headgasket survive in a 86mm B20 running 40psi with an estimated 750wHP??

85mm is the max turbo bore i would go 86 mm gets to then between the sleeves but you can try it and let us know

Headgasket surviving? I would be more concerned with the block surviving!! Even if you have the thickest, meatiest sleeves it is still going to be very thin between the cylinders. I had a 79mm d16 that didn't survive long because of that issue high compression NA.

well i don't know what sleeves you had but we do 79mm turbo d16s all the time and they can handle up to 60 pounds of boost and same on the 85mm b1617 and 18s and we have had customers boost on 86mm before and we still will back the sleeves up to 60 psi but we don't think the head gasket will hold long but i have customers with na 86mm daily drivers with no problems it all depends on the sleeves with ours its not a problem

86mm isn't ridiculous for NA, i've seen it done, but when it comes to boost, i wouldn't be the first one to try pushing the limit on those sleeves
