jdm engine
if i got jdm h22a engine for my accord, what all would i need to change on the engine before i could put it in my car? i've read where you can't use the intake or exhaust manifolds, but i don't see why not. and anything else i might need to know would be appreciated, i'm new to all of this stuff. thanks alot
the intake box might not fit, but any aftermarket intake will do.
the exhaust end is neither too long or too short, so it will not be a direct fit.
but if you can swap it yourself, it's a minor problem

is h22a actually better than the f22ab2 and b18c1 motors?
Hell no! F22 all the way!! H series have nothing on the f series. The F series is supposed to be one of the best motors Honda has.

haha dude! h22a all the way! well thats just me.
if u want to do the swap then its fine..
but just to let u know the motor sits further back into the enginebay.
also i would recomend taken off the vavles underneth the intakemani.
since it opens when you hit a certain rpm.
it restricts air flow taken this out is no problem.
also for the exhoust question.
just have any ordenary headers and weld a straight pipe connecting it to the rest of ur exhoust.

You dont need to change your fuel rail over either...Common Misconception. I de-activated my IABS(the VALVES{they arent valves}in the intake manifold). Remove the top of the intake maifold and remove the entire system and use a longer bolt and you are done. Make sure the diaphram on the drives side of the motor is unscrewed also.
The F22 trans will fit ont he h22, however your gearing is going to be all tweeked and the car will not be as fast as it would with the H trans. Its a matter of an economy transmission with longer gears and a sport transmission with shorter gears. Any intake will fit, you will have to weld a pipe from any aftermarket header as earlier stated. I suggest changing the water pump, oil pump, timing belt, tensioner(or converting to the H23 manual tensioner if you are going to be doing any head work, IE decking ect...as a manual tensioner would be better if you altered any of your factory clearances.
Dont cheap out and NOT change your water pump, timing belt, oil pump, balncer belts, ect...it will cost you in the long run...If you dont run the EGR, or IABS you dont have to conver much on the wiring harness if you already had a vtec harness in the car...if you didnt you will just have to run a wire from the vtec silenoid to the harness and it should be pretty plug and go.
If you arent familiar with swaps and so forth...you really might want a shop to do the swap, in saying that...you want a shop that knows what they are doing...
