Default ::Vibration::After Engine Swap '?'

We've got a B16 crammed into a 91 Hatch... The installers, basicly did a shotty job... Its not mounted properly, the a/c compressor sits on the frame - and vibrates, its extremely annoying... The engine has been in for a while now, and we're still trying to find some resolution... And, ofcourse, the shop that did the shotty job - is the last place we'de take it to be fixed... Theres no real reliable shops in the area, which really sux a fat one.

I'm thinking the worst, it needs to be re-mounted... But, not sure.

Has anyone had a problem w/ vibration after a swap - or have any suggestions as to what can be done to resolve this problem?? Please, Please, I beg you!!

If they didn't hack and reweld the original mounting points, you could just re-install the motor/tranny with a good brand like HASport.

Vibration is comn from the mounts for sure. Get some mount inserts of something. That would drive me crazy!

Did they use a mount kit?? or just re-weld the stock mounts to accept the new motor?

Some aftermarket mounts use a very stiff uerathane bushings, and transmit more vibration....but my HCP's were really only noticeable at idle.

I didn't think A/C would fit without the adapter plate from HASport ( I could be wrong here though ), so if they put it in without one, and have the compressor wedged against the frame, then that is also part of your problem.

Good news is, if everything else is OK, then you could probably get the propper mount, and AC adapter, and just re-mount everything.

Good luck.

EDIT: I had good results with my HCP kit, though it does have more vibration than stock, I have heard other mounts do as well. It also isn't really noticeable except at idle, and I can live with it then as well.

Check the angle of the axles too...that could be a cause of vibrations as well...Make sure that they're the right one for the swap and matches your intermediate shaft.

when you want to keep your ac in the stock mounting place, what you need to do is mark the area and then bang in the area about 1/2 ".
