Default Post Wheel Size and Amount of Lowering

Hi all,

I drive a black 1999 gsr. I plan to lower my car this summer on either the stock 15" "blades" or some 17" "lightweight" wheels. I was wondering how much I should lower it (1.25 - 1.75 inches) with either set of wheels. I would prefer to maintain a decent ride height (avoid scratching OEM kit) but at the same time get rid of most of the wheelgap. Coilovers are a possibility. Thanks!

Shingoblade

ps. I apologize for clogging the forum with this n00b question. I did a search but didn't really come up with what I needed.

I am having a few questions about suspension also. I would like to really get rid of the fat wheel well gap i have now, and gain some nice controll while at it. I have already made my decesion on Koni Yellows, but i dont know if i wanna go with GC Coilovers made for the Koni shock, or just the Ebach Sportlines. I would much rather have the GC's for adjustability purposes, but i dont wanna have different ride heights (it would be hard for each side to be the exact same the its opposite side) by the way, how do you tell how much to lower each side, do you just eyeball it???

i do believe that adjustable ride height shocks have threads like a screw would(so you just have to remember how many times you turned it and apply the same amount of turns to the opposite side)..

I have 17's and sportlines with 1.7 lowering. Ride is good. A bit rough an noisy at times because of the 40 series tires though.

Wow those are some pretty nice rides. I think anything more than 2 inches + 17"s is a bit too much for me. 1.25-1.5 inch drop should be good enough. Plus the OEM kit should make the car seem lower to the ground. Thanks for the input everyone.

I would strongly reccomend the Eibach Pro-Kit/KYB AGX's on sale right now at groupbuycenter.com courtesy of *** import.. a pretty decent drop IMO- not slammed, but a nice drop (1.5 all around)
