Default hard shift

1993 accord ex 107000 miles. On cold starts, and not always, the car takes a long time to shift on take off around 20 mph. after the car warms up, it drives perfect. i took it to a trans shop and they said the fluid is the right color and after keeping it for 2 days, they could not duplicate the problem. they said if it was the trans, it would act up all of the time. i just got it back from the dealer yesterday and they drained the fluid twice and advised a trans. Any suggestions? this car is very clean and i hate to get rid of it, however i can't see spending $1800 on a transmission.

Explain in better detail what the problem is.

So I assume the tranny flush did not help?
