I pulled the swap out of a 91 LS to swap over to my hatch but when I was removing one of the axles (the one that goes into the half shaft) I popped the joints loose. The boots were distended and both ends were stiff. I pushed on it and the outer one went back in and now rotates just fine but the inner boot is still distended and stiff.

is it supposed to move as well?? I cant for the life of me get it to pop back in?? is the axle toast or can it be popped back in place in some way I havent thought of yet?

they should both be able to move freely without any sort of rough spots or large amounts of force to get them to move

 

if you pulled the joints apart, you can try to put them back together but it might be easier to just get a new axle
