HELP! fan and thermostat question
my fan never seems to kick in anymore. if i sit in traffic too long without moving the car will start to overheat and my fan won't come on. i'm thinking it's the thermostat. i have a jdm itr b18c. would the thermostat for my engine be the same as one from the dealer for an em1 b16?? if it's not the thermostat does anyone know of anything else it could be. it's a flexalite fan with a fluidyne radiator. any help will be greatly appreciated. thx!

wat kind of car? If its 92 or newer than locate ur lower radiator hose and follow it towards ur engine where the thermstat housing is. locate the plug right on the thermostat housing which should have a green and black wire. Unplug that and jump the two pins(wires) together. If ur fan goes on than its has something to do with that fan switch or the ground wire(black wire) is open or not connected. U could also check ur fuse or relay for cooling fan. If u jump the two wires and the fan still don't go on then its ur fan motor that is probably fried. Hope that helps a little.
