Default How noticable is an intake vacuum leak?

Hey all, I ordered an Injen SRI a while back for my 06 Si. The fitment on it pretty much sucks ***, and pictures of other people's si with the same intake installed confirm this(elbow doesnt sit flush on tb or the intake pipe, and is at a pretty bad angle at that).

The elbow is a moulded rubber elbow not like a silicon hose type deal. It is a generic X degree bend and doesnt quite fit the application like it should. Now, having also had 3 injen flexmounts(replaced for free.. this is the last one before I get my refund from autoanything) break on me under normal driving (at least, thats when I heard them fly off). Taking the thing on and off (Have to tighten end over TB on then basically force the pipe into it to get the thing to go on properly) has kinda chewed up the lip of it and the fitment was never that good to begin with. Just feeling around the end of the elbow I can feel that its not on very straight, nor will it ever get that great with this intake.

That said, the thing sounds mean as hell, and I didnt spend my hard earned dough on it, so if It were to work out from this point on Id be happy with it and not give it any second thought.

Anyways.. that brings me to the whole point of this post. If I was leaking at all near the intake, would it be very obvious? The car seems to drive fine..... when the filter isnt hitting the brake booster line and causing vibration in the pedals(again, injen sux =P). I just dont want to run lean for 6 months or so.

I probably should just go buy the Fujita, but iunno..

if you open the hood, normally dependinh on the size of the leak you should hear a sucking sound
