whats exhasut is there that will make the best gains with a header while still not loud ebough to get me pulled over? I want something louder then a WS2 or EXmag..

find a reputable muffler shop with a mandrel bending machine and have one custom made with no resonator. 1.5-1.8 will be fine with a 2"-2.5" diameter. anything larger may be bad since it will lower the exhaust velocity. and contrary to popular belief...there is no "need" for a car to have backpressure at all, it's a myth. since you are looking for the highest gains, which could only be 4-5 HP it would take you hours on a dyno with different setups to find the perfect one. i've seen dynosheets where D15's have made 5 more horsepower with a 2" than with a 2 1/4"

so explain to me why a car doesnt need back pressure??? if they dont need back pressure then why wouldnt everyone just go straight to 3inch or bigger??

because you do need some levels of backpressure

to op, my car has a 3" mandrel bent with a 12" resonator and an ebay muffler. its very quiet. (its ugly and im changing it tho)

i would go with a 2.25" mandrel bent and something like an es tuning muffler. it should be fairly quiet

it is not backpressure..... it is flow velocity

a large diameter tube takes a whole lot of air to be pushed quickly out, a small one takes less. ... example, put your lips close together like you will whistle, then blow as hard as you can while feeling it with a finger or hand... then do the same thing with your mouth wide open... see how close together the velocity is much more? you can actually feel it? That is good flow for the amount of air you are capable of exhailing. The trick is knowing the correct size for optimum flow without restriction.

yeah, none! the ws2 or the exmag are the quietest exhaust. IMO, anything other than those 2 are too loud and your chances ofbeing pulled over are greater.

just do a search, this is only the 1,000,000,000,000 time the topic has been covered.

I definatly wana stay away from being pulled over, but on the other hand the WS2 or the Exmag will limit performance. Anyone runniing these exhaust with a header? Does it still sound like stock? I just like a nice sounding exhaust, dont really care if others hear it if I can while Im driving.
