POPPING SOUND from front end

Default POPPING SOUND from front end

after i broke my fg in i heard a loud pop when i shifted hard for the first time.....then recently i rotated the tires and the same sound went off twice when i shifted hard into second and third....any ideas im thinking something with the lsd...but it drives fine....

i had that exact experience...
before boost...
i have no idea what it is...neither does the dealer on anyone else...

i'm hearing it from the right side....

it started as one loud pop one time when i did a hard shift....much like u.....now it's a multiple pops when traction is lost and trying to be regained on hard shifts....all from the same spot on the right side...

been to and from the dealer and AJP to check i a number of times ... no clue...
nothing seems to be wrong with the ride or the way it drives or anything else.

i don't know about the si but the coupes and sedans we are putting in alot of timing chain side motor mounts.

are they breaking? what seems to be the issue?
cuz i have that popping sound too when it's under some stress.
they said it's normal but i know it's not cuz other Si don't do it...

we haven't replaced them yet on the si's, but the r18 motors we have. the mount is breaking, so dealerships think it is a bad strut on the right front. thats what my technicions thought it was until they installed a strut and it didn't fix it. did more searching on the car and found the mount broken. we haven't seen any si's with it yet but you might ask them to look into it.
