Default Help

Im thinking about getting my car lowered. I know that i should be getting expensive coilvers. I was looking at the Tein STech Lowering Springs. The Stech springs lower about 1.3" and 1.4". If i put these one, do you think i would need to get camber kits or would it be fine? There is also the Htech springs which lower the car about 1" in rear and in back. Im trying to get rid of the wheel well gap between the tires and the wheel well. This is the site i found some of these on. It includes pictures. thanks for your help.

go with the stech and no you will not need a camber kit. Unless you want one. Just more money you have to spend.

I am lowered on H&R sports, which are 1.3" drop. I do not need a camber kit, but there is still MAD wheel gap. about 2 fingers front/back.

If u want no wheel gap, i think neuspeed sports would take care of it. 1.75" F 1.5" R

any drop affects the camber, meaning it's recommended to get a camber kit.

I do reccomend it, but up to a 1.5" drop your camber will stay within OEM specs. anything after 1.5" and u will be outside the oem specs and camber kits are a must.

I've had s-tech's on my car for 3 years now on stock shocks w/o camberkit without any complications, but it doesnt mean that your shocks will last the same as mines has so far. freddy is right though, it's recommended that you get camber kit with any drop. IMO if you have the money, get a complete coilover kit there are quite a few out there for less than $1,000. my .02

I agree with the nuespeed sports. I have these on my car and its one of the best riding springs

my friend has an xb the old shape and runs on s techs and they've been riding fine. I prefer those over eibach springs.

also it is noted in other posts that if you drop your ride below 1.5 you will be getting into camber issues, but if you are not dropping it lower than 1.5 your camber won't be affected too much.

from my understanding I prefer coilovers because I don't like to mix match spring rates and strut rates. You can buy springs with high rates and struts with low rates and they don't match properly.

With coilovers they are matched perfectly.

edit: I don't think it would affect it. Then again I don't have too much data on that so bump..

i would check the specs on the stech and eibach springs. Check with Koni and see if there shocks would ride fine with those springs.

If there was anything such as "doing it the right way" and just using springs, and you're absolutely sticking with stock struts, I'd recommend Eibach's ProKit. It doesn't drop much, but the spring rates are increased significantly and you'll notice a definite handling advantage.

On top of that, ProKits are known for being pretty easy on stock strut setups.
