bent cam shaft possible???!!!???
ok i was working on my friends car its a fully built 4g63 motor with crower valvetrain and comp cams.
we ran into a problem where we would try to crank the motor by hand and the cam gears are so damn tight the timing belt wants to jump
we have come to a conclusion that both cam shafts are bent out of process of elimination.
when we took them out and spun it on a stool the exhaust cam was bent it was noticible. the intake was bent slightly also.
we droped the stock cams in and problems solved they spin free.
now what can cause the cams to get bent?
the motor was built at a shop.

Very possible. I know Rocket pre-tests each cam before he ships for straightness, I'm not sure how common a bent one is but it's extremely possible.
