Crazy weird rev problem sometimes. Tried searching-nothing
Simple as this, every now and then the car will start jerking while Im driving like when I shift or when Im taking off from a dead stop, so I'll pull over, rev the car to 1.5k and it will stop there and rev up and down reallllly fast and if I go past 1.5k, it's like the ECU thinks Im at WOT. It'll rev all the way to the rev limiter if I let it. I can't hold it in a certain spot unless it's below 1.5K. I also had bad surging sometimes from about 1100-1500 over and over and over but I made a block off plate for the IACV and that fixed that right up. But I've still got this other weird problem every now and then. My only guess is that the TPS has a bad connection somewhere or that the sensor is going bad.
bump...by the way, I was messing with the ECU by just moving it around some and when I move it certain ways, the idle changes a little bit. Sometimes worse than others. That would indicate there's a bad connection at the ECU somewhere, anyone know which wire it would most likely be?
It idles fine. It's not a vacuum leak as far as I can tell. I sprayed some brake cleaner around all the seals and gaskets and I couldn't get any response out of the motor. I just swapped over my y8 IACV and the throttle body to see if it was the actual IACV or maybe even the TPS sensor but it was neither. Nothing changed when I swapped them over. Still have a code 14 for the IACV. I think that I might have a wiring issue at the ECU. Seems like it's the only thing left doesn't it?
Yea a couple months ago and it's done fine since then. No CEL's or acting up or anything until about 2 days ago...
