are you sure its burning oil? are you checking your dipstick? Are you just going off the smell alone. Usually light smoke would indicate oil. a blue-ish/white smoke = coolant, and black smoke = fuel.

Is your block stock? I would prob. do a compression check first then leakdown afterwards. could be valves, could be blowby.

give some more info on your setup.

I've seen quite a few ITR's fry headgasket's...but I'm not jumpin to the line to say it's that...I would just definately say it's a possibility. Are you sure the smoke's grey and not greyish/light blue?

Do a compression & leakdown test :-\.

EDIT:
PS: How often are you filling up the oil? Is it noticable?

its more than likely your valve stem seals, its a common problem in dohc vtec engines. my gsr has the same problem. but before you jump to conclusions do what others have said and to a comp. test and leak down that should pinpoint your problem. to blue smoke in vtec!

if you cant do compression or leakdown just yet, try changing you oil, and see if what the old oil looks like. if it looks like chocolate milk, them you HG is gone. also look at your spark plugs. these little things will tell you a lot.
