04 Accord EX Rear brake wearing off too soon?
I had to replace my rear pads @ 30k already! It this normal? I thought the rear brakes was suppose to last twice as long as the front. Had the dealer looked @ it, they said that it was normal because the pads are a lot smaller in the back. And i haven't been driving with the E-brake on if your wondering. I did check the tightness of the E-brake, it took 3 to 4 clicks for it to be completely on. I ask the dealer what is the spec for the E-brake, they said 3-8 clicks!! That sounds like BS and they just didn't wanna admit the brake was too tight. What do you guys think?
This is what i got back as a reply from the honda dealer:
By the looks of our records it shows you never coming in for any maintenance work on your Accord, it is very common for rear brakes on Accord's to wear out at 30,000 miles. The place of business you take your car to should have been checking and adjusting the parking brake at least every 7,500 miles-we do. As far as the spec for how many clicks, I stand behind my technician recommendation all car/trucks are different. I'm sorry if you had a bad visit or had to drive down to get an answer you think was wrong.

Now what? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is from the 03-05 Accord service manual.
Lever locked clicks:
With rear disc: 6-9
With rear drum 4-7
If you have rear disc brakes they're probably too tight.
I have an 03 V6 (heavier car) and my rear pads look good at 40,000 miles. Do you feel them dragging when turning by hand?

the size of the pad have little to do with the thickiness, the dealer told you some white lies.
the spec provided sounds like right, i have a 6th gen and it's about the same.
the way i always check(after brake work done) is to get the car on jackstand, with one click of ebrake handle up, try to turn the wheel. it shouldnt be seized on, if they are pretty tight, you need to reset the piston or loosen the ebrake cable adjustment.
