Default my car shuts down @ 114

what do i need to do to fix this. something affordable please. my car has bolt ons, cold air intake, exhaust, 2.2, 5sp., other than that it is stock.

you need a new ecu but you wont be getting much higher anyway, and your gonna get torn apart for driving that fast

Search a little bit and if you need some help with that check the link in my sig. This topic has been cover many times before and please if you do plan on going 114 or over that do it in a controled environment and not on the street

Welcome to what is called a speed governor, there's a reason it's there

1) Tires are probably not rated for those speeds
2) You WILL get into an accident
3) You're tearing on the engine rough by doing that to it

Speed governors arent set LOW enough for everyone to be safe, stop trying to poke at it.

It's because your car is US-built.

Some cars here in the states, Japan-builts, don't have that problem.
