Who still has their R? (over 3 years)
Who still has their R?
I still have my black 2000 Itr (purchased in summer of 2002) , which has gone through 4 turbo setups with the orginal b18c5 motor, and how has a k20z1 (not running yet).

how it sits most of its life...
Who still has theirs and what is the story on the R?

Anyone who has owned there ITR for more than a year without ever tracking it, has no idea of just how great of a car Honda made.
I still have my ITR that I got in '99, and I haven't neglected it to a life of sitting in a garage collecting dust while its fickle owner keeps pulling out its engine.

16x,xxx miles... the roof and the hood are still straight, most of the paint is protected by a thick layer of exhaust soot, brake dust, and rust. Interior is a ******* mess, the list of issues that i need to fix only gets longer. My concern for fixing said list only gets smaller.

This is my first post. I have been reading this forum for a while. I HAD a 1997 that was stolen last spring from it's supposedely secure winter home. It was totally stock. It was #220 1997 Canada for those of you keeping track of stolen R's. In Montreal.
I recently passed on an opportunity to get another one, the yellow 2000 at Downtown Acura in Toronto this summer, because it was too modified.
I never tracked my car but I drove it for three years during the winter until I realized what I was doing. The LSD works Great in the snow, no need for AWD ! I did drive it hard but any new one I get will be driven on the street gently, but not tracked and preserved as close to stock as possible. I have purchased another type of vehicle for modifications/track so I can keep the R as stock as possible to enjoy the balance of a well made factory automobile.
Obviously after reading so many stories, and getting many ideas on security, about stolen R's, I will take the necessary steps to keep at least ONE out of the hands of thieves. Nothing I say now can add to the many words of disdain towards R thieves. Suffice it to say that they are like thieves who steal a work of art, thow the canvas in the garbage, and sell the frame for a few dollars. I'll GIVE you the keys to my mazda 6 wagon if you leave my next R alone !
I did drive it hard on the street though. Deerfield Beach Fla. to Montreal, Qc in 22hrs and 40 minutes total elapsed time, including ONE speeding ticket, pre 9/11 of course.
Anyway, just thought I would add my 2 cents worth and unload the bad news to those who are counting that 1997 #220 Canada is gone .... but not forgotten.
Thanks for letting me vent and I will keep reading the forum even though I am temporarily without an Integra R

me = bought used from dealer, crashed totaled before I got it, beat it for 30K, burned oil, built motor, beat it some more, spun bearing, rod thru block at 20K built miles, new block, built again, took to tuning shop in Jerz, left out overnight, interior/fuel rail/injectors/VC/ECU jacked, totalled again, rebuilt by me, NOS'd, blew up head, burned valves, rebuilt again, now fully built with lots o' powa.

just finishing the second motor rebuild (Darton sleeved 2.0L B18C5 N/A) which should give her even more fire under the hood

2nd owner of 01-0188. Had it 3 yrs, 5 mo, 18 days. Put 63k of the 106k miles on it. Can't imagine life without it. Autocrossed stock for last 3 yrs, started modding for STX this year. My mission is to stiffen her up and improve responsiveness, but maintain the truly awesome stock handling balance. Needless to say, I have a ways to go yet on the last part...
I was a strict street driver before getting the R. AX has been an excellent opportunity to gain appreciation for the sheer brilliance of Honda Engineers ! My only hope is that my tuning ends up doing it justice ! I hope at some point to hit the track, but still can't stomach the idea of losing it...
