depending on how the alarm is installed would depend on if its worth the labor. The price is around the bench mark. But it depends on the installer and the shop doing the work. Everybody charges differently and everyone work is not the same. Quality and stealth is the key. As far as the product both of them are the pertty much the same. Both are owned by dei. If you look at the controler you can see that. I would say post pics of the install but that would straight stupied. Look under the dash and look for yourself. Can you see any loose wires or the alarm brain? Can you trace any wires back to the brain? If so the install is basic and is not worth two cents.
They are not pretty much the same. They are EXACTLY the same just a different color remote case and a different logo. They are also EXACTLY identical to the Python 881XP. Don't get hung up on the name "Viper". People are still buying Sony's crap just for the name, not realizing how much has changed.
$450 is about the going rate. Whether you wasted your money or not is another issue. You could have gotten a keyless entry alarm for $150 installed w/out the remote start and it's just as secure. So basically you paid $300 so you could watch your car start up w/out you in it.

Yea its a basic install. Nonething is hid or is trying to be concealed. But at least its not spaghetie under the dash. And I found the brain or the location were its at.
Get rid of the t-taps, they cause false alarms all day long or the unit not to work right over time. the price u see on the internet is the price of the unit itself, dei pricing for retail price includes suggested labor. It shouldnt of taken a good installer 3 1/2 hours to do the install especially if he was using t-taps, i didnt think shops used those things anymore, lol

Ummmmmm no it doesn't. Many shops include labor in their price, but "retail pricing" of the alarm itself does not include labor.
