as soon as i start my engine i can i hear a ticking or knocking noise coming from the engine, but it only lasts a second or two then runs fine. does anyone know whats happening?

Bump, I got the same problem, sounds like a knock or bump then goes away in like 1 second. For me it only happens on cold starts.

 

I had the same question, it's your cold valves slapping against the head. Common, not harmful, but annoying. Sounds so wimpy.

YEP. It is valve related. I say it's cold start or maybe one or two valve is off.

Anyhoo, get a Valve Adjustment at the mechanics. For $55 bucks. It's a good maintainance. Every car needs one every so often.

When I had my Valves Adjusted..It just ZINGED and ran a lot more efficient.

You could do it yourself, but it takes time.

 

mine did the same thing before but i have only heared it once. I thought it was carbon bounceing around but i dont no i have not heard it sence then. it was also on a cold start for me too.
