I have a 95 civic ex with a AEM short ram intake and was wondering if the Password JDM CF intake makes any better power and tq. I think I remember reading someting on the boaed about it but can't find it now.

If you didn't dyno how can you say it's way better than his short ram which he hasn't even posted a dyno for either?

I have an ITR motor with the Password JDM CF intake and have owned and driven plenty of other cars with the same intake, as well as a short ram. And I've seen/done dynos of most of them, so I can tell you that your statement that your "intake is better than his short ram" is WAY off.

 

intakes are almost never worth it.....Save for some real power makers

 

intakes arent the greatest power gainers for their money but its a great way to start off.

since you already have a sri, just keep it and buy something else.

an intake is an intake. you're better off just buying a intake pipe from ebay and slap on a k&n filter on there. you'll pretty much get almost the same results but for cheaper. so, just stick with the aem since you already have it.

 

hell no keep the aem i lost 14 whp on the dyno with the j's intake.

That dyno is vs. a stock intake. Even so 6.5hp is not way better.

Besides, the issue at hand was Password intake vs. Short ram, not a stock intake.

 

just installed one on my jdm b16 i didnt belive the hype of the whale ***** but now i do its quiet till u mash it and that shiiit gets LOUD!!!! def worth it imo

 

I also had an authentic J's intake and i didn't feel much of a difference on my butt-dyno compared to a generic SRI. the throttle response was a bit better with it, but it's not worth the price IMO.

I'm now using an AEM Hybrid CAI (made for EG's with B-series). 3" piping like the ITR version and my butt-dyno definately felt a big difference with it. I wish i dyno'd the J's, but there have been other threads in the all-motor forum that show it doesn't make a lot of power compared to AEM units....
