eg feels like it bogs....???help
i got 93 eg cx 5 speed, single cam Non-vtec everything stock except for intake and exhaust...i just got the car and the damn car feels real weak...car feels like has no power...im going up a hill and i am in 1st it holds pretty fine i guess when i shift to second it feels like its bogging out and forces me to put in 1st gear to make it up the hill...is this normal on these engines or do i have a problem?
I checked my timing, distributor, spark plugs, fuel filter.....anyone got any advise for me? Thanks

no problem, the car is just a slug especially up hills.i had the same exact car but swapped out my motor,im much happier going up hills now.
It has 70hp. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be like that.
My only advice is to stop using the brakes.
Edit: Don't bother doing anything to the D15B8 motor. If you have one with valve reliefs in the pistons, you could throw on a VTEC head, but your best bet is to swap.

damn this sucks...i thought something was wrong lol, if i put a d16 vtec head will i feel any difference or will i only feel a difference when vtec kicks in

QFT, i have the d15z1 (VX motor) it has a grand total of 90 crank hp minus leaky rings, minus the burning oil etc etc etc, my tranny went kaboom (CX/VX trannies are the same) and i baught a EX/Si tranny. what a diffrence, my car has power in 2-3-4th gears (relative to before) so buy a EX/Si tranny and swap back to the CX tranny when your going on a huge roadtrip (passing people on the highway in 2nd owns)

i wouldnt waste my time modding the cx engine imo,but i swapped a b16a and b16a tranny in my cx and it might be "the torqueless wonder"but its a world of difference from the stock engine and tranny and i couldnt be happier with it.oh and when i bought my cx it also had an intake,full catback exhaust,and short throw shifter and it was still slow.swap
