personally, these are one of the worst things you could do to your car.... i like my r stock... but a friend gave'em to me...so i thought i could make a couple bucks off it

Right...those are called Canards. I think you can get a pair on A&J racing for something like $250.00. But the ones they sell are longer and have a lip to help keep air from slipping off the surface area.
They are used to help keep the front end of the car down, but I see little use on a daily driven car.

and while they may look cool as hell, on applications that arent geared towards full track racing, and even so, on applications that arent geared to be flying down the track so fast that they stand to lift off and sail for the heavens, they are only going to create more violent currents of airflow around the car and slow it down--
--generally speaking they have to be used in conjunction with a complimentary aero kit that will ground the car
