O man dude, I know all too well the back pains of putting in a motor from ur garage, and I'm only 17 lol. Anyways, I've never done a type r swap b4 but I hear that u need the axles, mounts, engine/tranny/ecu, possibly obd conversion harness if u're switching obds. Here's some great info though. http://www.jdmshit.com/hcp/EFfitment/index.html
Good luck dude.

Ok, you do NOT need mounts it will be a direct bolt-in. Do some searching for the wiring but the 93 Si already has vtec so you may just have to extend the wire(can't remember). Get you a chipped p28 and tune. You will be good to go. You should search and you will find an *** of info on the subject. Good luck.

Oh, and get a helms manual.......best investment!

i just finished the swap in my 93 del slow si. It had a d16z6, (odb1). I put in a 98 jdm b18c type r, (obd2) .
The "complete" swap included engine, transmission, axles, ecu (p73), motor mounts. I think only "front-lower" mount is actually different, so I will need a different AC compressor i guess.
You will also need a obd1 to obd2 jumper, ($90), or rechip the old p28 ecu.

I got the shift bars new from Honda, (95 delsol vtec is b series), ($99 +69).

I fabricated a throttle cable bracket extension instead of finding the correct cable.

The radiator hose(s) diameter is slightly larger on b series, for now im using jerry-rigged rubber bushing and better clamps, at the radiator, so far so good.

The jdm wire harness is "backwards", so I used two haynes mauals to figure out the wiring. One for a 93 civic and another for a 98 integra. First I identified everything on both engines by checking the colors of the wires as shown in the manuals and marking all connections on both harnesses.
I took my old harness and cut and spliced the connectors from the jdm harness that were either too short to reach (vtec solonoid, air intake temp), or a different style plug, (injectors, alternator, distributor, o2 sensor).
The only trick was that the 93 si had a v-tec switch, but not a knock sensor, and the b18c used a knock sensor, but not the vtec switch. So (at the engine), I used the wire that went to the Vtec switch and routed it to the knock sensor, (near oil filter), and then inside the car, at the ecu connector, moved the wire that from pin (D6) , to (D3).
It started right up with no CEL!!!
Then exhaust system and air filter system is all you will need.
It was worth the time, money and effort... the car runs great!!!

Thanks honda-tech.com
