What should I do to make my 5th gen LAST!
I was planning on saving up for a new car, but I love my 5th gen too much right now
What I am wondering is what should I be doing to keep it in good shape, it has about 126k miles on it now, and I want to make sure it will last another 25-50k miles, or another few years.
I bought the car with 117k miles on it almost a year ago. I havent really done much to it besides the regular oil change, and I had my tranny flushed about a week after I bought it. Is it time to get my tranny flushed again?
And what else should I do? Should I just take it to my mechanic and let him take a look at it?

Clean fluids, oil, trans are the best thing you can do for the car. Consider having the coolant changed, it turns acidic over time. Nobody ever checks the ph level.
I change the trans fluid in the wifes legend every 3rd oil service. It might seem like overkill, but I hate rebuilding transmissions and paying for parts.
P/S fluid also needs changed out. smell the fluid in the system and then sniff the new fluid in the bottle. use honda fluids and live long and prosper.
T-belt been replaced?
If you have any other concerns about main't repost

Is it auto or 5spd? You really do not want to flush an auto tranny. You want to do a drain and refill. Then do another drain and refill in 1000-1500 miles or so. Use only OEM Honda Fluid it is like 6 bucks a quart but its is a lot better than any aftermarket.
I do this routinely from time to time on my 1993 Auto with almost 200K on it. Original auto tranny shifts great.

Hmm they might of done a drain and refil. I am not sure. I dont want to pay 100 bucks to do a drain and refil, can't I do it myself?

(Uses the tranny oil cooler hoses I think??)
I think the trouble is that the people who do that frequently use solvents along with ATF. They don't use just pure Honda ATF.
Drain & fill can be done yourself. If the oil smells bad, you can do several drain/fills & drive around a bit in between. The torque converter doesn't drain, so you only get about 1/3 of the fluid each time.

well on my fourth gen you'd get the fluid, , find the drain hole and do ur thang
on my 4th gen tho, you'd need a long hose or funnel, cuz the fill spot and dipstick for tranny is almost next to the tires height wise and you gotta reach down, no way you're fitting the bottle with your hand ya know

thats what im saying i dont konw the layout of your engine bay, but i will assume they dont make it easy to mess with the tranny fluid, so bring a tube and funnel
if im not mistaken you have an f22b engine and i have an f22a, i dont know how much of a differeence they had, but i cant imagine them being THAT much diff

Does this sound like a good deal?
225 for..
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Injector Flush
Caps
Rotors
Spark Plugs
Wire Replacement
Oil Change
Does that sound like an okay deal, that is what I was quoted.

"How do I do a drain and refill?"
To drain the trans fluid there is a drain plug at the lower most part of the trans. It has a 3/8 square hole in it, just perfect to put a 3/8 breaker bar in. LOL
Remove the drain plug and clean all of your second gear clutch pak off of the magnet. Reuse or replace the aluminum crush washer. Let it drain for about 5 minutes.
Replace the drain plug and then put a long funnel in the dipstick hole, pour in 2.8 quarts of Honda Z-1 ATF. run the engine and shift the trans thru the gears. Check the trans fluid level with the engine off.
