Default Trouble-shooting, feels like clutch is slipping...wtf??

Tonight we started street tuning my car and at about 7500 rpms and 1 bar of boost (about 400 whp), the clutch felt like it just let go in 2nd gear. At first we thought it was the tires, but we tried 3rd and 4th with the same result... it feels like you press the clutch petal in. No matter how much you do it, you can't smell the clutch slipping. I got the car home and beat on it some, and it did the same thing at lower rpm's... I checked the clutch fluid to see if it was boiling it, and it was really cool, like almost too cool. I dunno what is going on. The flywheel is an exedy from my last years setup, but it had plenty of life left, the clutch is a spec stage 5, the tranny is a gsr w/quaife. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know...

I am kinda leaning toward the slave cylinder, but we bled it and it bleeds fine, takes fluid fine.. the fluid does get all nasty when it comes out, and when I refilled the slave cylider up after bleeding, as it poured it in it went from clear to all nasty dark grey, and there was some black **** floating in it. The car did sit for 1.5 years with no motor/trans so maybe something fucked up in the slave cylinder then?

Master cylinder is leaking causing the pressure loss???????

This would be my bet.

The master cylinder and the entire hydraulic system only disengages the clutch. The clutch's natural position is full engaged. It is not responsible for its clamping force, unless the system was partially activated somehow.

I spoke to my machinest today, who also races a lot. He said he used to run a mustang and everytime he sprayed it did the same thing. he said the pressure plate was lifting... and pretty much that I needed to get a new clutch.

SOund like the pressure plate. We had some retarded issues and when we took it out every rivett in the disc was broken and the disk pad and center section were pretty much independent. This was on a stage three CM. We put a stage 4 and no issues. The stage 3 took some abuse though. Check your hydro lines and make sure you are not leaking any fluid, if you do not lose any you should not be leaking. I would replace the slave just because it is cheap and better check that 1st before you take the whole thing apart, cause I hate tranny swaps. Put the clutch in a high gear and full throttle it, if it revs up inconsistently it is the disc slipping.
