Default so, where are the high rpm b16's???

due to the availabilty of parts, i believe i can put together some nice stuff for cheap. basically, i wanna put a b16a(jdm sir II) crank, and pistons into a taller block, most likely gsr, (but a b20 would be interesting, netting about 1.8L with the short stroke) along with a type R head. 200whp, maybe more sounds good, and i would whoop up on some local ls-vtec integra buddies in my crx, and one dude with a k20 swap might get owned too.

ive seen a couple dyno charts here making flat tq to 9000-9500 rpm, but with 1.6 block, ive never seen anything with a larger r/s ratio in a taller block. im planning to order an omniman dvd, but i wanna know what 10,000rpm+ takes. any body running their b16's over 9 grand, give me some insight please. can a reliable(approx. 50,000 miles) 10,000rpm be had with the 77mm crank?

my buddy was taking his ls/v to 9800 all day everyday no problems. skunk2 valvetrain, skunk2 stg3 cams.

its takes some good rods, and a good valvetrain. and cams that will make power up there or else its pointless of you doing and your just wearing out your engine faster.

yea, ive seen a lot of rpm come out the 87mm cranks, but with 77.x mm stroke, i wanna get to the point that my car sounds like a motorcycle, and want to see similar setups. some highly modded ctr builds are what im looking to see, and search feature is not friendly to terms like "ctr" or "b16".

what for you are going to make NO torque?

heres a vid of 2 4th gear dyno runs of that car, you can see how high he revs it no problem. just a basic setup.

the replacement for displacement is rpm. if not that, nitrous . i ride bike, and i would like a car to be similar in the realms of top end, and im confident i can make the power to beat the average guy with 1.8-2.0 swaps barely making 200whp in my crx.

anyways, if anyone can throw in an especially interesting dyno sheet, or a vid or something, thumbs up.

what kinda cam do you plan to run to make power to 10+? if your only making power to 8.5k and your revving it to 10 you aint goin no where.

i know that cams need to match the target rpm, and i will need to a do a lot of searching to find the right ones.

im posting to see what kind of bottom end work is needed. i've heard the ctr motor is a gsr/itr block with longer rods to accomodate a b16 crank. i havent seen any builds along these lines, and i wanna see what others have done in the past.

the lack of torque/stroke to me is a challenge. if i wanted to go all out, i can get complete k20a2 swaps at a local junk yard for $2500-3500. they had sold one for 2500 a week before i had asked which was like 2-3 months ago.
