99 CRV Codes and dead cylinder P1399
Hey fellas,
I'm having code 1399? What is it? I also failed emissions recently and have cylinder 3 with no compression. I know Honda put out a TSB on this, but they are giving me problems. Has anyone had theirs paid for? Thanks. Davey

could be that you have a burnt valve...we've had problems with the valves receeding into the head, especially if you never adjusted them. We are goodwilling the parts(cust pay labor of around 8-900)...you get a BRAND new cylinder head complete from Honda installed. Speak with the service manager, and if he doesn't help, speak with the District Manager. They will help you out IF it's pertaining to receeding valves

And if you don't get any help just have the head removed and re-lap (re-seat) the valves.

This is similar to a problem I just found out. Also a '99 CR-V w/ PCM codes P0301 P0303 and P0172. Dealer indicates that the recommended course of action is to replace the cylinder head at a cost of about $4,000.
When you refer to a TSB, what does that mean?? and what impact does that have to me???
Thanks!!
