hey guys i have a question about the walbro 255 and the HP model of that pump. I am running a JRSC and just a FMU with it. Can i run the 255hp model and be able to regulate it fine with just the FMU? or will i need to get a adjustable FPR to run the 255 hP?

 

You dont need the hp model for your supercharger, as a matter of fact you would be okay with a 195lph pump. The high pressure pump could actually mess with your fuel if your return isnt set up right.

 

yeah i want to be safe though, thats why i want to upgrade to the 255, as my pump right now seems like its dieing on me, bogging alot . so i guess the reg walbro 255 will do the trick im guessing?

 

Why do you think that most turbo and supercharger setups that come with a FMU come with an inline pump? Becuase the fuel pressure that is running through the system when in boost is VERY high and a pump that isnt designed to run @ high pressures will fail. Im not saying you cant do it, I had a buddy who ran the stock civic fuel pump with an FMU for about 12,000 miles untill he spun a bearing. If you plan on running the FMU, get the high pressure model. Its designed to run @ 100+psi which you will could commonly see with the FMU setup depending on how much boost you run. If I had the choice myself I would run CROME with some DSM 450s and and the regular 255 so I could run a sane fuel pressure and have better tuneability as well as being in control of your timing maps. I understand that some people dont have $, so whatever works for you.
